These Air Fryer Chicken Wings can be made in a matter of minutes and come out crispy and juicy on the outside. They can be dressed up in any way you like to alter the flavour.

The air fryer will make chicken wings look amazing and make you want them more often. There is no simpler way to prepare chicken wings for any occasion. Place the wings in the oven basket, and turn the heat on. It’s super easy!
The air fryer’s forced circulation heat makes the skin crispy and keeps all the juices inside. The oven takes longer to produce the same results, so the meat can become dry and hard.
In just 20 minutes, air-fried chicken wings can be prepared. The result will be crispy skin and a juicy interior. You don’t need to heat the air fryer, and there will be far less splatter than if you used an oven.
Ingredients for Air Fryer Chicken Wings
These chicken wings require the following ingredients:
- One-pound chicken wings You might need to take off the wing tips and separate the wing joints if they’re not cut in pieces at the time of purchase.
- EÂ Extra virgin olive oil– I love the flavour of the olive oil in chicken. However, you can use any oil to cook with. The oil helps to crispen the skin. You can spray the chicken with oil if you wish, but make sure to coat them well to prevent the skin from drying out.
- Paprika – If you have Spanish paprika, use it. It has a beautiful colour and a sweet taste. If you prefer a more smoky flavour, you can also use smoked paprika.
- Salt & pepper We keep this recipe simple so that you can choose the sauce or seasonings you’d like to add after they’re done.

How to make chicken wings in an air fryer
Rinse the chicken wings and dry them. The skin will become crispier if the excess moisture is removed from the wings. If necessary, remove the wings from the joint. Depending on the brand, I need to do this in half the time it takes me to buy them.
Combine the wings, olive oil, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix to coat all the pieces. You can also add dry rub or seasoning salt to the pieces if you like more flavour.
If you don’t wish to fry the wings in oil, you can spray them with a sprayer. This will also save you money on the extra bowl.
Place the wings in an air fryer basket. If they overlap, it’s fine. To cook them properly, they don’t have to be in one layer. For 20 minutes, heat the wings at 400F (200C).
The basket should be shaken at the halfway point to allow the wings to move around. This will ensure that they are evenly cooked on all sides. Another shake may be necessary near the end of cooking.
Add a glaze to your wings after the first shake and at the 14-minute mark. If you wish to use a basting brush, use a brush to apply BBQ sauce, Franks Buffalo sauce or any other glaze.
The wings should be ready for you to eat after 20 minutes. You may need to cook the wings for a longer time if your wings are too large. Use a meat thermometer to check that the wings are at 165°F. If they don’t, you can return them for another few minutes.
You can find these sauces to serve them with. Personally, I love to serve them with sweet soy sauce glazes, Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, and BBQ sauce.
PROTIPÂ – Heating leftover chicken wings in an air fryer is a great way to keep them warm without losing their crisp, juicy texture.

Do I have to double the recipe?
If you have a bigger air fryer, you can double this recipe to make as many chicken wings as you like. I use a 5.5-quart basket for my air fryers, and 1.5 pounds of wings fit in it. They don’t get too crispy.
Air fry the doubled portions for 22-25 minutes or until crisp. Ensure that you shake the basket at all times during cooking. You might need to use a spatula to stir the wings. The size of your oven and the size you choose for the wings will affect the baking time. Make sure to check the temperature before baking.
Can these chicken wings be baked instead?
You can also bake the chicken wings in an oven if you don’t own an air fryer. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Place the wings on parchment paper or a silicon mat for 30 minutes. Flip them halfway through.
Can I bake the chicken wings in the oven?
If you like, you can basten chicken wings in a sauce. It’s best to not do this too early in the cooking process as it could cause it to burn. #Reecipes.info
Wait until the chicken wings are cooked for 5 minutes to baste them with the sauce. If you are cooking the wings for 30 minutes, flip them after 15 minutes and then basten them for 25 minutes. Bake one side of the wings. Cook for 3 minutes more, then flip them over and baste again. Cook the wings until you reach the desired crispiness.
