Flapjacks are a fruity and chewy snack that’s packed full of cereal and oats.

  • Line a 20 cm square cake pan with baking parchment.

  • Place the dried fruits in a bowl. Mix the seeds, oats, and cereal together.

  • In a saucepan, combine the butter, sugar, and golden syrup. Turn the heat down to medium-low and stir with a spatula until the butter is melted.

  • Turn off the heat and add the dry ingredients to the saucepan. Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Mix until well-coated.

  • STEP 5
  • The mixture should be evenly distributed in the baking pan. Use the spatula for the even distribution of the mixture. Bake the mixture at 160C/140C fan/gas3 for 20 minutes. Let cool completely before cutting into squares and fingers. Keep them in an airtight container for up to three days if they last that much!

    • 50g mixed dried fruits (a mix of raisins, sultanas, and apricots)
    • 50g mixed seeds
    • 140g of oats
    • 25g multi-grain hoop cereal
    • 100g butter
    • 100g light muscovado sugar
