Three Apple ApplesauceĀ is a homemade, delicious favorite that uses three types of apples.

 

This recipe for applesauce is super simple to make and can be made entirely in the microwave. You can also make it in the oven. This delicious recipe is made with fresh apples using only the microwave.

Ingredients required:

  • Golden Delicious apples
  • Granny Smith apples
  • Fuji apples
  • Water
  • White sugar

How to make Three Apple Applesauce

All the apples should be peeled, cored, and thinly sliced. Place the apples in a large bowl that is microwave-safe. Add the water to your bowl. Place the microwave-safe cover (or a paper towel) on top. Microwave for 10 minutes. Mix the apples. Continue heating the apples covered in the microwave for 5 minutes more.

Use a large fork to mash the apples. Add the sugar.

 

This makes delicious, chunky applesauce. You can make as many mashed apples as you like since you will be responsible for mashing them. It can be super chunky or mildly chunky. You can also add a bit of ground cinnamon if you like cinnamon in applesauce.
This applesauce recipe has three types of apples. Fuji apples are sweet and juicy. Another sweet variety is the delicious golden apple. Granny Smith’s apples are sweet and tart. It is amazing to combine all these flavors!

Ingredients:

2 medium (about 14 ounces) Golden Delicious apples
2 medium (about 14 ounces) Granny Smith apples
2 medium (about 14 ounces) Fuji apples
¼ cup water
1 tablespoon granulated white sugar
ground cinnamon, to taste (optional)


Instructions

Peel, core and thinly slice all apples.
Place the apples in large microwave-safe bowl. Add water to bowl. Cover with a microwave-safe lid (or lay a paper towel over the top), and microwave on high for 10 minutes. Stir the apples. Continue to microwave, uncovered, until apples are very tender, about 5 minutes longer.
Using a large fork, coarsely mash the apples. Mix in the sugar. The applesauce should be eaten within a few days.

Notes

This recipe can be prepared 2 days ahead. Just cover tightly and refrigerate.
